Whole Wheat Banana Cake


Well it's time to actually start posting on this blog. I already have a brazilian blog with all this recipes but now I decided to translate everything for the english version.

So let's start with the ease and healthy Banana Cake, this is a really natural and fit cake that you won't feel any kind of self consciousness by eating it. Actually this is really good to get more portions of fiber on your daily diet. And this is nothing like those cakes with only artificial flavor, this one actually has the bananas inside and you will get surprise how awesome it taste in the middle of this delicious cake.

Let's bake!

Ingredients:
5 medium bananas (or 4 of the big ones)
1 1/2 cup of whole wheat flour
1 1/2 cup of oat bran
1 1/2 cup of dark brown sugar
3 eggs
1/2 cup of melted butter with no salt
1 teaspoon of baking powder
2 tablespoon of cinnamon 




Instructions:
First  preparer the pan with a little butter all over it and preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.

Slice all bananas like in the photo with around 0.3 inch of thickness - or how i like to call "not too thick, not too thin".

In a big bow mix the whole wheat flour, out bran and melted butter until everything is well blended. When you finish mixing, add the baking powder and mix again.



Now it's time to put everything together. You you make it in layers: first layer is the flour mixture, the next layer will be the slices of banana on next to another till if covers most of the pan without leaving much space between them. The next layer you will cover the bananas with a little shower of cinnamon (careful to not put too much - or too little). Next you will put a thick layer of the brown sugar over the cinnamon. Keep repeating this layers till you get in the total length of the pan. But remember to finish on top with the flour mixture and then a a layer of the brown sugar to give a touch to it.

But and the eggs? you are asking. No I didn't forget it. Now you will beat the 3 eggs in a separated bow and then pour it over the cake. This is only to give some moisture to the cake so it doesn't get really dry. It may look weird to do it this way but trust me, it will work! Leave the eggs over it and then put it to bake for 45 minutes or till it gets into a really golden color.


The final look will be a really delicious, fit and rustic cake. Healthy and flavor meet again on this cake.
